Choral Singers Scholarships

San Antonio Mastersingers Choral Scholars
Celebrating local singers.

New this season, the San Antonio Mastersingers are pleased to award talented collegiate vocal students who are passionate about choral music and committed to excellence in choral performance in the greater San Antonio area. Choral Scholars must be enrolled as a music major in a greater San Antonio university or college and demonstrate a high level of musicianship and vocal technique.  Scholars participate in the full concert season and enjoy mentorship and networking opportunities.

We are happy to announce our first two Choral Scholars, Carlin Alspaugh and De'Von O'Neal.

Irma Taute Scholarship
Celebrating young voices.

Each season San Antonio Mastersingers awards the Irma Taute Scholarship in honor of longtime Mastersingers member and former Board Chair Irma Taute.  This need-based scholarship is awarded to one middle-school or high-school student in the Advanced Choirs of The Children’s Chorus of San Antonio. Mrs. Taute served as Associate Director of the Children’s Chorus from 1996-2015, conducting the high school group in the CCSA Advanced Choirs. The Irma Taute Scholarship supports the work of The Children’s Chorus of San Antonio, a frequent collaborator with the Mastersingers.
